Tricia Daniel, founder of Blue Village Learning, grew up in middle Tennessee and graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1995. Following graduation, she worked in a sub-acute brain injury program for five years as a Job Coach before being promoted to a Behavior Specialist. Tricia returned to MTSU and earned a Master of Arts in School Psychology in early 2003 and a Specialist in Education later in 2003.
Tricia has worked as a school psychologist in school systems in Tennessee, Virginia, and Alabama for 18 years. During that time, she has seen and been part of a variety of experiences which honed her skills as a practitioner, such as:
working with a variety of health professionals to understand potential needs of students;
due process cases;
advocates and attorneys, and;
school crises, including a school shooting.
Tricia earned the credential of Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) in 2006, and has earned continuing education credits since that time. She frequently presents on school psychology topics from data collection and strength and weakness analysis, to behavioral studies and assessments and more. She currently has certification through the Alabama State Department of Education.
Tricia is a past-President of the Alabama Association of School Psychologists and the current National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Delegate to Alabama.
“I am, and have always been, an advocate for kids. I want them to be understood, and I see it as my ethical obligation to be their voice when necessary. I have worked with students and advocated for them in the school systems. I want to continue that by providing my skills to a variety of individuals and systems.”
