Independent Educational Evaluations

Section 290-8-9.02(2) of the Alabama Administrative Code states parents have the right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation IF “A parent has the right to an independent educational evaluation at public expense if the parent disagrees with an individual evaluation(s) (e.g., OT, PT, achievement) obtained by the public agency.” Please click the link and find the IEE section of page 502 of the document for details. Knowing the Alabama Administrative Code and eligibility requirements for each category, I am a qualified evaluator to conduct these evaluations in part or in whole.

“Many students and their families benefited when Ms. Daniel served as the school psychologist on their case. It was her common practice to meet the needs of all students and their families. Ms. Daniel understood the importance of identifying the areas of weakness or concern for her students. She worked to get to the root of why certain behaviors were evident in each case. She was thorough in her evaluations of students and looked for patterns of strengths and weaknesses as well as root causes of academic, social and emotional behaviors. Ms. Daniel recommended approaches to solutions that would lead to what was best for the student. Her motivation was always focused on helping students achieve success by ensuring appropriate resources and accommodations were explored and provided. Ms. Daniel guided parents to resources that would help them meet the needs of their students and educated parents on practices and approaches that would assist them and help them make informed parental decisions. Ms. Daniel never shied away from tough cases and situations. She presented information based upon facts and her knowledge of what works for students and families. Even when the truth was difficult to hear, Ms. Daniel would share it with compassion and a belief that success was attainable for each individual student even if the work and the process was going to be difficult. In short, Ms. Daniel gave parents hope and a pathway for achieving success. Ms. Daniel was one of my favorite school psychologists to work with because I knew no stone would be left unturned in our efforts to help students be successful.” ~ Kim S., Principal
